Bamboo – who knew?
Customers are becoming more clued up on fabrics these days and rightly so. Advances in science and technology mean that more and more options are becoming available. Organic cotton is becoming big business and is slowly filtering into the mainstream, particularly with children’s wear.
Bamboo fabric is less well known, but those who have come across it, will tell you how soft it is and how well it washes and dries. It’s a natural textile made from the pulp of the bamboo grass. It is a light, yet strong fabric, with some antibacterial properties. As a natural fabric and like organic cotton, it agrees with people who suffer from skin conditions like eczema.
One of our brands, Fore Axel & Hudson, currently use Bamboo in their range of super cool boys wear. Their clothing is inspired by golf, with a retro twist. The range includes polo-shirts, knitwear, shorts, shirts, trousers, hats and socks.
Fore Axel & Hudson’s spring/summer collection is currently half price in the Toucan Kids summer sale.
